Toddler Bible Reading
Isaiah's introduction to the Bible began when he was in my womb; I would read it out loud, whether for a minute or a half hour. After his birth, that intimate time transferred over to breast feedings. Once he was past breast feeding, it was then time to figure out the next opportunity to keep the Living Word alive to him.
Nap time and night time have become the newest source of intimate time Isaiah has in the Bible. He climbs into his bed, I hand him The Beginner's Bible by Zonderkidz, he takes the first five minutes or so to do his reading, and I finish by reading out loud for about another five minutes. Before closing his eyes, we pray.
"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12
